The launch of the Bovensiepen 05 GT marks the beginning of a new phase for the Bovensiepen family following BMW’s acquisition of the Alpina brand rights.

Presented under the new Bovensiepen automotive brand, the 05 GT becomes one of the company’s first major models developed independently from the Alpina name while still remaining connected to Buchloe and the grand touring philosophy historically associated with the family.

Based on the BMW M5 Touring, the 05 GT combines a hybrid V8 powertrain producing 800 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque with revised suspension components, forged lightweight wheels, bespoke Pirelli tires, and an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system.

Alongside the technical changes, the car also introduces a new exterior design language developed together with automotive designer Frank Stephenson.

Design — New Identity, Familiar Proportions

Although the 05 GT remains visually connected to the proportions of the BMW M5 Touring, Bovensiepen has revised multiple exterior elements as part of the company’s new design direction. The front section introduces a large stainless steel grille together with larger air intakes, while a lower body line connects the front bumper, side skirts, and rear section into one continuous design element.

At the rear, the car receives a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system with four oval tailpipes integrated into the redesigned rear section. According to Bovensiepen, the exhaust system also reduces overall weight by 7.8 kg compared with the standard setup.

The exterior project was developed together with Frank Stephenson, whose previous work includes the modern MINI, BMW X5, Ferrari F430, Maserati MC12, and McLaren P1.

Engineering — Revising The M5 Touring

The 05 GT uses a revised version of BMW’s hybrid V8 drivetrain architecture. Bovensiepen states that the vehicle receives optimized engine software together with a revised intake system and modified airflow management designed for both performance and cooling.

The resulting system output rises to 800 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 305 km/h while accelerating from 0–100 km/h in under 3.6 seconds.

Beyond outright performance figures, the company also revised multiple chassis and suspension components. The 05 GT receives modified support bearings, Eibach springs, a revised strut tower brace, and bespoke Pirelli tires developed specifically for the vehicle.

According to Bovensiepen, the setup focuses on combining sporty handling with long-distance ride comfort, including for rear passengers.

The car rides on 21-inch forged wheels featuring a symmetrical multi-spoke design developed specifically for the model. Both wheel finishes and brake caliper colours can be individually configured.

Interior — Handcrafted Manufacturing And Customization

Inside, Bovensiepen continues to position the 05 GT around handcrafted production and extensive customer customization. The interior uses Lavalina leather throughout multiple contact surfaces, including the steering wheel, seat panels, centre console sections, and additional trim components.

Customers can individually configure leather colours, stitching, trim finishes, embroidery, and additional interior details.

Bovensiepen also states that more extensive personalization requests remain part of the company’s regular manufacturing process, including individually upholstered luggage compartments and bespoke interior elements. Each vehicle also receives an individual production plaque as part of the company’s low-volume manufacturing approach developed in Buchloe.

Positioning — Continuing Beyond Alpina

With the 05 GT, Bovensiepen continues to focus on high-performance grand touring rather than track-focused supercar development. The car combines high power output with long-distance comfort, handcrafted interior production, and extensive customer customization developed at the company’s Buchloe facility.

The 05 GT also becomes one of the first major models presented under the Bovensiepen name following BMW’s acquisition of the Alpina brand rights. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with prices starting at €198,900 before additional customization options.
