Russia begins shipping diesel to the United States

24 Oct, 10:20

Russia has begun shipping diesel to the United States, with the first three tankers heading toward the US East Coast, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced on October 23. Russia plans to supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel in October, increasing deliveries to 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December. Monthly supplies could eventually reach 3 million tonnes, according to Novak. The shipments follow an agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month. Washington has temporarily eased sanctions to allow Russian diesel imports until April 7, 2027.
