Less weight, more power, sharper focus — the new M2 CS delivers measurable gains in every area that counts.

Purpose-Built Performance

The BMW M2 CS is not a styling exercise. It’s a marvel of precision engineering, a tool designed to impress.
Under the bonnet sits the familiar 3.0-litre inline-six (S58), upgraded to 390 kW / 530 hp and 650 Nm. That’s a 50 hp and 50 Nm increase over the standard M2. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed M Steptronic with Drivelogic.

Performance is exact and verified:

  • 0–100 km/h: 3.8 s (3.5 s with rollout)
  • 0–200 km/h: 11.7 s
  • Top speed: 302 km/h (standard M Driver’s Package)

The powerband stretches from 2,650 to 5,730 rpm, with peak power at 6,250 rpm and a redline at 7,200 rpm. Throttle mapping is reworked across all drive modes for faster, more predictable response.

This is not a cosmetic bump — the M2 CS drives with more urgency, less delay, and a broader torque plateau.

Lightweight Construction

BMW M GmbH reduced mass by 30 kilograms through targeted use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and forged components.
Key areas:

  • CFRP Roof
  • CFRP Boot Lid with Ducktail
  • CFRP Rear Diffuser
  • CFRP Centre Console
  • Forged M Wheels (19" front / 20" rear)

The result: 1,700 kg DIN weight and a 4.4 kg/kW power-to-weight ratio.
This is the lightest M2 of the current generation — every kilogram removed to improve rotation, braking, and consistency on track. The reduced mass not only enhances the car's agility and handling but also contributes to its impressive power-to-weight ratio, making it a high-performance machine on the track.

Chassis Precision

Ride height is 8 mm lower than the standard M2. Suspension tuning, steering, and stability control have been recalibrated for higher cornering loads and flatter response under pressure.

Core changes include:

  • Adaptive M Suspension (model-specific tune)
  • Active M Differential (revised locking logic)
  • M Servotronic Steering (adjusted feedback curve)
  • Integrated Braking System with CS-specific calibration

Braking is serious:

  • Standard: M Compound Brakes (6-piston front)
  • Optional: M Carbon Ceramic Brakes

Tyres are track-spec as standard — 275/35 ZR19 front, 285/30 ZR20 rear. Ultra-track compounds are available; a sport tyre option is offered at no cost.

These changes are not cosmetic. They alter the car’s mechanical rhythm — quicker transitions, higher grip limits, and a more stable rear under power. The M2 CS's mechanical rhythm has been fine-tuned to deliver quicker transitions, higher grip limits, and a more stable rear under power, enhancing its performance and driving experience.

Exterior and Aerodynamics

Function drives form. Every visible change carries weight savings or aerodynamic purpose.

Details:

  • Matte Black Front Splitter
  • Black M Kidney Grille (optimised inlets)
  • CFRP Ducktail Boot Lid
  • CS-Specific Diffuser
  • Quad Exhausts (Matte Black Finish)

Color options are limited to four, all paired with exposed carbon:

  • Sapphire Black Metallic
  • BMW Individual Velvet Blue Metallic
  • M Brooklyn Grey Metallic
  • M Portimao Blue Metallic

No badges for vanity — only a red-outlined M2 CS logo on the rear.

Interior Focus

Inside, everything serves the driver.

  • M Carbon Bucket Seats — heated, electrically adjustable, removable head restraints, harness-ready.
  • M Alcantara Steering Wheel — flat-bottom, red 12 o’clock marker, two M-mode buttons.
  • CFRP Trim Elements — dashboard and console.
  • Operating System 8.5 with a 12.3” driver display and 14.9” control display.
  • Harman Kardon Audio, HUD, and Augmented View Navigation are standard.
  • Climate control is digital and integrated into the display; physical clutter is gone.

No ornamentation, no excess. Every detail is functional, from the red CS logo to the ambient lighting that reveals the carbon structure when off.

Track Tools and Systems

The M Drive Professional suite gives complete control over performance systems:

  • M Traction Control: 10-stage adjustable
  • M Drift Analyser
  • M Laptimer
  • M Mode TRACK

Electronic assistance is limited to essentials — stability systems can be tuned or fully disengaged.

Standard driver aids include Front Collision Warning, Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant. Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go remains optional.
