EV Platform Goes to Sea — Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre
At boot Düsseldorf 2026, Austrian boatbuilder Frauscher showcased the 790 Spectre — an electric sportboat powered by the same electric components as the Porsche Macan. It features a 100-kWh battery and a 400-kW electric motor, identical to those in Porsche's electric SUV, adapted for use on water.
Porsche also displayed the Macan Turbo Concept Lago alongside the boat. The concept car matches the boat's Darkteal Metallic paint and shares design elements, but it's a one-off show piece. The boat is what you can actually buy.
Taking Car Parts to Water
Most electric boats use standard marine motors and battery packs. The 790 Spectre works differently. It uses the exact powertrain that moves a production Porsche.
Frauscher constructed a new hull around the automotive components. This hull is lighter, shorter, and narrower than earlier models, designed to accommodate the car hardware without unnecessary weight. The boat is 7.97 meters long and falls between a day cruiser and a performance runabout.
The 400-kW motor delivers acceleration and top speed comparable to petrol sportboats in this size range, but without engine noise or exhaust.
Design Connections Between Boat and Car
Both vehicles share more than matching paint. Inside the boat, the layout follows car logic rather than traditional marine design. The start button sits left of the steering wheel, exactly where Porsche places it. The steering wheel uses Porsche leatherette. Sport seats carry the Porsche Crest. Five round instruments with Porsche graphics fill the dashboard.
The concept car borrows from boats in return. Yacht-style real wood lines both luggage compartments and covers door trim elements and floor mats. A compass replaces the Sport Chrono stopwatch on the dash. Seats use marine-grade fabric instead of standard automotive materials.
Porsche's Sonderwunsch program handled the custom work. Both vehicles received matching keys finished in Darkteal Metallic.
Colors and Options
Frauscher applies Porsche's customization approach to the boat. Customers can order custom colors through the Paint to Sample program — the same system Porsche uses for sports cars. The boatyard applies these colors as an 11-layer finish.
Sideblades offer additional options. The Macan Turbo Concept Lago carries 'Frauscher x Porsche' lettering in body color. The show boat uses high-gloss black with 'electric' lettering.

The Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre is available to order now. In Germany, the base price starts at €608,685 including VAT.
