The Perfect Match

Rolex has introduced a new version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, crafted in 18ct white gold, that marks a significant first in the history of the model: a dial made of ceramic. This innovative green dial — produced entirely by Rolex — is paired with a two-colour Cerachrom bezel insert in green and black, forming a perfect aesthetic and material harmony. Together, the dial and bezel embody Rolex’s mastery of ceramics and its constant drive to advance watchmaking technology.

A Ceramic Dial – A First for Rolex

This is the first time Rolex has created a dial in ceramic, a milestone that underscores the brand’s expertise in materials science. Ceramic is known for its durability, colour stability, and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for watches designed to endure.

By matching the green ceramic dial with the green-and-black Cerachrom bezel, Rolex achieves a visual and technical continuity between the display and the case — a unique hallmark of this new GMT-Master II. The entire composition demonstrates the precision and skill required to produce ceramic components in perfectly calibrated colours.

Dual-Coloured Cerachrom Bezel

The bi-directional rotatable bezel is fitted with a 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert made of two contrasting colours: green and black. Each numeral and graduation is moulded in relief before being coated with platinum via PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), enhancing legibility and adding a refined sheen to the surface.

This two-tone configuration serves both a functional and aesthetic role — allowing the wearer to distinguish between day and night hours across two time zones, while also highlighting the watch’s contemporary identity.

White Gold Construction

The 40 mm Oyster case is sculpted from a solid block of 18ct white gold, reinforcing the GMT-Master II’s dual character as both a luxury timepiece and a robust professional instrument.

Equipped with a Triplock winding crown and screw-down case back, the watch guarantees water resistance up to 100 metres (330 feet). Its sapphire crystal features the signature Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock, magnifying the date for effortless readability.

Every surface is finished with Rolex’s hallmark attention to detail — polished on the case sides, satin-brushed on the lugs — reflecting the brand’s commitment to visual balance and tactile excellence.

Calibre 3285: Precision Across Time Zones

At the core of the GMT-Master II is the Calibre 3285, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. It powers the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and 24-hour display for the second time zone.

Equipped with the Chronergy escapement, Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers, this movement is engineered for precision, reliability, and resistance to magnetic fields. It offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

Like all Rolex watches, the GMT-Master II carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, guaranteeing accuracy within 2/+2 seconds per day after casing.

Oyster Bracelet & Comfort System

The watch is fitted with an Oyster bracelet crafted in 18ct white gold, known for its three-piece link design that balances strength and comfort. The bracelet features the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening, and the Easylink comfort extension, allowing a quick 5 mm adjustment for an optimal fit in changing conditions.

The Spirit of the GMT-Master II

Created in 1955, the GMT-Master was initially designed for airline pilots and international travellers. It allowed reading two time zones simultaneously — local time via traditional hands, and reference time via the 24-hour hand and rotating bezel.

The GMT-Master II continues this legacy, embodying the spirit of exploration and precision. With this new ceramic dial and green-black Cerachrom bezel, Rolex reinforces its role as a leader in material innovation and functional design, offering a watch that is as technically advanced as it is visually striking.
